It's Now Official!!

I am so happy to be able to finally announce that I've been asked to join the Scrapbook City Design Team! I am so excited about it and am pleased that I get to work with my good friend Alicia, plus so many other talented ladies!

Hopefully this spells the end of my scrapper's block - lol!!

...And a Quickie...

Just a quick pic from South Bank the other day. I took some beautiful shots of my children and, as Mia and Chris were posing happily, I glanced over to Nick (watching the other two) to see this....

LOL - he is so very funny. It's a real 21st shot, isn't it? I've never seen him do this before... I am wondering if it will become a more common occurrence... here's to hoping not!

Monday Monday

Well, it's Monday again and I haven't blogged all weekend!!

Friday night was Scrapbook City's first big Cyber Crop hosted by the lovely Alicia Barry. It was so much fun! There was so much chatting and fun happening that most of us didn't actually scrap until we could tear ourselves away from the computer! I came up with the following:

...and my personal favourite for my Book About Me...

I'm not sure when the next Scrapbook City Cyber Crop is, but there are lots of fun and exciting things starting up over there, so check it out!

I hope to catch my blog up a bit more tomorrow.

Busy Busy Busy

It's unbelievable how extraordinarily busy we've all been lately. I just can't get over how little I am getting accomplished, even though I am flat out all day long (and into the night)!

A while ago, Ang, Leish and I got together and had a little photo shoot. It was heaps of fun and today I thought I'd share a photo from that day. It is just me. Reason being, although I don't particularly like photos of myself, this one is okay. I have also been chatting with my lovely cousin (who has been teasing me - lol) and thought I'd post a current pic for her, to entice her & her other half to actually leave a comment, instead of lurking! (Note the necklace, Miss Allyson!)

Have a great weekend! Hopefully I'll be back with a few more interesting posts over the next few days!

Ekka - Royal Brisbane Show

I love Ekka time! I love nearly everything about the Royal Show. There is so much to look at, to do, to experience. Now I have my littlies, I love sharing all these experiences with them. So last weekend, John and I took the kids to the Ekka.

We were only there from after lunch until the fireworks - I could have gone back another day to see all the stuff we missed. The kids were perfect most of the day ....and, boy, did they sleep well that night!

Here's Nick with his very first Dagwood Dog..... or was it his second, which he took off Amelia? He LOVED all the food!

I had ten photographes in the photographic competition and three layouts in the scrapbooking competition. The standard of photographes was outstanding and made my shots look very amatuer, but that won't stop me from entering each year! I received a second placing in the scrapbooking, which was nice.

It was fun taking the kids through the Fine Arts and seeing all the faces we knew in various layouts and photos. Here is Mia standing in front of her B&W photo - I love the contrast of her bright outfit against the photographes.

It cost $22 just to take the family on the ferris wheel!! It is the only ride we all go on and the view is excellent. From the top, we could see this most amazing, colourful slide. John took Mia and Chris on it. Unfortunately I only had my little camera and the pics didn't turn out too well.

The day finished with the traditional rummage through the showbags while waiting for the fireworks. The fireworks were fantastic and Nicholas LOVED them. I wasn't sure if he'd be scared or not, but he couldn't stop laughing. Chris had the best spot up on Daddy's shoulders. (Blogger won't upload that pic for some reason. It's very cute - you'll just have to imagine it!!)

Happy Ekka Week - lol !!!

Welcome Back Mojo

I think I have my Mojo back. So far this weekend, I have worked on five layouts (still unfinished) plus finished another two! I can't share them with you, but they are done. Now I feel I can get back to my DT project and the prize layout (from Ngaire's NBCF raffle). I was worried about doing them badly when I had no creative juices flowing.

I'd love to finish another layout tonight....

:( So Now I'm Crying!

There's only three weeks left until my very good friend, Alicia, leaves for New York. I've been pretty composed about it and tried to keep busy, but I am sad about it too.

This morning I told Amelia, Christopher & Nicholas that Alicia (, Michael) & Kyan are moving. I was trying to hold back the tears telling them, but the reaction was just too sad. Nick doesn't understand, so he was fine. Christopher had a bit of a sad expression and immediately started planning all the things we HAVE to do before they go. Mia, my sweet little Mia, just stood there and burst into tears!

I've had her crying on my lap for nearly ten minutes. She's now just sobbing a bit while she goes about her Saturday morning. So, okay, I cried! How am I going to be in three weeks time??

I'm Still Alive!

Phew! What a week!! So busy, and yes, I'm still alive and well!! Just a bad blogger.

Went to dinner with a couple of beautiful school mates last Saturday night. My friend Kat has just arrived home from Ohio, USA after months of working there and is off to Scone, NSW.... well, last Sunday - lol! She was only home for a week. She's a Vet specialising in Equestrianisms... yes, I made that word up, but I am being particularly inarticulate at this late hour!!

'Tis us! (Kat, Vonn & I) I couldn't work out what the white thing on Kat's nose was.... it's her nose ring of course!! She's only had it for 13 years!! I love these girls - shame we don't see more of each other.

Friday Night

I had a fun night last night at Alicia's with Leish and Jill. Alicia makes a beautiful spag-bol (spaghetti from scratch - yum!) and it was nice sitting with her family having dinner.

I achieved absolutely nothing scrap-wise. I am so completely stuck at the moment. Hopefully I will have time to scrap today to try to get my Scrapapple DT stuff done - or at least started.

I am having problems with emails, too. Some emails I receive and others I don't, so if you have been emailing me and receiving no response, please keep trying. I'm not ignoring you, just not hearing you - lol.

I've had to put word verification back onto my comments again, sorry. I love all your comments and read every one, but I am getting tired of the robot advertising comments from Anonymous that I keep receiving.

Boring post today. I hope to have something more exciting by the end of the weekend. We are going to the Ekka tomorrow - yay!!

Where Did The Week Go?

Well here it is.... Thursday again! I was going to try to blog every day, but there just isn't all that much going on here, so I haven't blogged since Sunday!

We have been busy running around and still cleaning up. I have lots of work to go in my big house purge, but am getting there. My plan was to tackle the kid's rooms today and maybe even the rumpus room. My wheelie bin is nearly full, though, so I had better slow down. I am being merciless - if you come to visit me in the next week, just don't put anything down... it may end up in the bin!! lol

Back to it!

....and Those Layouts

I finished this layout a few days ago - it just needed the title and journaling. I love the Junkitz paisley papers.

Here's that photo I liked of Roz and I. The photo lifts up (by the flower) to reveal journaling underneath.

This is my very latest layout. It is so unlike anything I've done before. I really love how it turned out and am not fussed if no-one else likes it. It is basically about Alicia and I... did you guess that?

Thanks for looking!!

Quick Post

Thanks to everyone sending good vibes my way... I managed to finish three layouts. I'm not 100% happy with one of them, so I might 'tweak' it a bit. Other than scrapping, it's been a busy weekend.

On Friday, Nicholas banged his nose very badly and has a bit of a gash out of it, so he is sporting a gel-bandaid and is still a bit sore. Poor thing. I took a photo of the injury, but haven't uploaded it.

Saturday was full of cleaning and grocery shopping.... oh, and a HUGE headache, which I still have.

Today we went to a baptism and caught up with lots of old friends. The kids were all really good and had a ball with all the other kids. It felt a bit like a take over.... I used to be one of the only one with children and today there were kids EVERYWHERE! The baptism doubled as the baby's first birthday, so there were party games and lots of cute kiddy stuff, as well as some adult conversation.

It's been a fun weekend, but I am ready for the week to start. I am trying to get into a new routine this week and am determined to make a change. I want to purge my house of some 'stuff' that we don't need. You know the stuff I mean. It starts with the cutlery drawer, where I have decided that I really don't need SIX can openers - one will do. I am hoping it will end in the store room, where I know there are at least FIVE dinner sets we've been given over the years. There are BAGS of clothes in between. Purge, purge, purge!!

Have a great Monday!!

Need to Finish Something!

This is a little sad, but with my creative block, I now have TEN layouts I have started and need to finish. They've all been started within the last two weeks and I really want to finish all of them! Maybe today's the day!

...and with Mum's birthday around the corner, I need to scrap something for her too!!

So today, I am going to be ultra organised. I am going to do the housework this morning, the groceries when John gets home (around lunch time), then have the afternoon to play in my scrap room - which desperately needs tidying and scrapping in!!

Wish me luck!

Scrapapple Oh Baby! Girl Projects

They are up on the Scrapapple site, so here are my July projects for Scrapapple. I love these papers, but when it came time to work with them, I found them a challenge.

I had to dig to find this photo of Amelia when she was about two. She's always been a really little character and the photo suits the papers so well.

Mia's preschool had a Teddy Bear Picnic at end of term and all the littlies sang and danced for the parents - very cute.

Not much else happening in my little world... just busy with work and suffering scrapper's block (along with a few other scrappers!!).
