Australian War Memorial Diaramas

The Australian War Memorial in Canberra is a truly special place that I enjoy being in. The way the people who are caught up in war are portrayed and honoured is humbling. I thought Amelia, Christopher and Nicholas would be too young to understand what a lot of the images meant. Christopher, however, really surprised me in his honesty and sadness for all the people who have lost their lives in war. He was especially touched by a wall of Aussie Army ID photos representing the thousands of men who lost their lives being moved from one POW camp to another. He had to walk away. It was "just too much to think about".
The diaramas on different moments of war are very well put together, so here are a few of my favourite photos of the artwork representing some very sad times in the world's history.
